The eco-minded sunglasses range includes frames made from biodegradable Italian acetate.

What do you get when two Los Angeles-based, Italy-bred brands pair up? An effortless fall collection of sunnies, courtesy of Culver City-based sustainable eyewear company Dom Vetro and cool denim label AG Jeans. And given that Angelenos are masters of sporting shades in winter, the cold weather-ready collab is just what we need to welcome L.A.'s moderate change in seasons.

The duo recently launched a sunglasses collaboration as part of the jeanswear line's Made in Italy capsule of sharply-tailored sweaters and outerwear in luxe fabrics such as washed corduroy, waxed canvas, Melton and Merino wools, and cashmere.

The Dom Vetro x AG range ($325 to $395) is comprised of the fashionable frames brand's signature unisex silhouettes in exclusive colorways, all handmade in the brand's Culver City factory from Italian acetate and mineral glass lenses. Standouts include the 1960s-inspired M01 in quartz and gray polar lenses, the flat-bridged F36 aviator glasses that come with a clip, and the thick-framed Primo sunnies, to name a few.

"We designed a capsule collection that was timeless and embodied the spirit of California luxury, while honoring the heritage of Italian craftsmanship," Dom Vetro founder Ashley Bézamat tells UncoverLA. "The combination of lens colors and acetates are subtle but refined, striking a nice balance between modernity and classic Italian style."

In true Cali spirit, eco-conscious wearers will also be happy to know that the dark tortoise and jet black hues are made of a biodegradable, plant-based acetate, while the lenses are recyclable and feature "greater optical clarity and [have] a much smaller carbon footprint than plastic," per AG Jeans.

For those in need of a fashion refresher, AG Jeans was co-founded by Italian designer and "godfather of denim" Adriano Goldschmied, who helped build premium labels like Diesel, Gap 1969, Replay, Agolde, Goldsign, and more. He opened his first jeans boutique, King's Shop, in the Italian ski resort town of Cortina d'Ampezzo in the 1970s, per The Observer.

Bezamat notes that "Dom Vetro's roots are in Italy, where I studied design and became a master eyewear maker. This Italian heritage of our company was a nice compliment to the extraordinary Made in Italy collection being launched by AG this winter."

He adds: "I've been wearing AG for years. The fits are excellent and I love the quality of the denim. As two local, L.A.-based brands, we were introduced and decided a collaboration made sense. We've got a similar aesthetic and ethos, focusing on quality and fit. We are also committed to sustainable manufacturing, which is a key point of differentiation for us."
