These Stylish L.A. Malls Are Surprising Safety-Minded Shoppers with Goodies

Wear a mask, get treated at The Grove, Americana at Brand, and Palisades Village.

Remember getting a gold star in school for every A+ or good deed? Amid the pandemic, masks and social distancing are among the many things that have become politicized — and three of Los Angeles' most popular shopping centers are taking note from the ol' elementary school reward system with a new safety-minded campaign starting today.

Caruso properties The Grove, The Americana at Brand, and Palisades Village are rewarding shoppers for their acts of mindfulness, such as wearing face coverings and following the six-foot-or-more rule. Guests who follow the centers' Health & Safety Standards guidelines will be surprised with goodies such as free parking and more.

Visitors at The Grove and Glendale's Americana at Brand can expect treats like complimentary parking, a Sprinkles cupcake, iced coffee, and See's candy or fresh pastries. Over at Palisades Village, delicious delights include McConnell's ice cream, Alfred coffee, and baked goods from Edo Little Bites.

As businesses closed in early March at the beginning of stay-at-home orders, L.A. megadeveloper Rick Caruso's three open-air properties remained open as a safe strolling option. The outdoor centers launched Curbside Concierge in May as a way for guests to enjoy contact-free shopping and food pickup.
