When Dior announced it would stage its 2016 cruise show in the City of Angels, fashionable Angelenos got excited — that is until the French fashion house had a changement de cœur and moved its runway to Cannes instead. The luxury label appears to be making it up to LA when its Lady Dior art exhibit invades our city next month, reports Women's Wear Daily (via L.A. Times).
The luxe brand tapped seven American and British artists to use its classic Lady Dior handbag and more accoutrements as their canvases, resulting in a range collectors items. (WWD notes that while all of the talents are male, the female artists who were invited to participate had scheduling conflicts.) Designed by Mat Collishaw, Ian Davenport, Daniel Gordon, Chris Martin, Jason Martin, Matthew Porter, and Marc Quinn, the limited-edition line is comprised of card holders ($360), wallets, keychains, scarves, clutches, and Dior's signature top-handle bags ($3,600 to $11,500), with only 100 of each style available.
A pop-up installation tour kicks off November 29th at Dior's Miami boutique during Art Basel; the exhibition lands in Beverly Hills December 1st and will run through February 2017. More to come!
