Indoor and outdoor design enthusiasts have a new inspiration playground in Los Angeles. For its newest LA outpost, Rolling Greens decided to think big—as in an entire city block kind of big. The chic home and garden haven opened its third location in Downtown's Arts District, where it spans the entire two-acre stretch of Mateo Street.
Open as of earlier this month (did you catch our preview on IG Stories?), the retailer transformed a former metal scrap yard into a 15,000-square-foot indoor pavilion filled with rustic-cool contemporary and vintage furnishings, decor, textiles, kitchenware, and many more one-of-a-kind finds from around the globe. The space also houses Rolling Greens' signature Arrangement Bar where visitors can craft their own floral creations, pick up a pre-made vase, or have a custom one created for their special occasion.
Across from the showroom is a 20,000-square-foot greenhouse that stocks trees, plants, florals, and more indoor greens alongside gardening supplies and accessories. Outside, expect to find outdoor plants, succulents, cacti, and more, plus a selection of massive planters. (It's worth noting that the industrial-cool vessels in the parking lot are sadly not for sale—they were one of the few leftover scraps found at the space that the retailer repurposed into oversized plant containers.)
Marking a first for Rolling Greens, the store will also house its own eatery, complete with a selection of hand-picked wines and a menu of small plates. The food and beverage program will be rolled out in 2019 as part of the retailer's second phase of development, which will also bring an even wider selection of greens and seasonal blooms to the greenhouse.
There's also a 3,200-square-foot tent decked out with bohemian-cool rugs, poufs, and seating—and if you're tempted to move into the any of the space's stylish grounds, perhaps the next best thing is to throw your next party there. Yup, the retailer will soon offer private event rentals at its DTLA flagship, which includes the 250-capacity tent, the greenhouse, and the 1,760-square-foot outdoor deck. (Oh, and there's also the built-in al fresco bar as well as the dreamy landscaped gardens.)
