Besamé Cosmetics founder Gabriela Hernandez literally wrote a book on makeup through the ages, which explains why her vintage-inspired brand is beloved by beauty buffs and Hollywood set decorators. The author and beauty historian's second brick-and-mortar boutique soft-opened on West Third Street earlier this month.
"I chose this location because many of our clients who visited our Burbank store were coming from the Westside," Hernandez tells us. "We wanted to make it more accessible to them and also be close to other attractions like the Grove and the Beverly Center since many of our clients and fans are tourists from Europe or Asia and want to visit areas with multiple places to visit."
The 1,000-square-foot space features the Sephora-stocked brand's full collection of cosmetics and beauty tools for eyes, lips, and face ($15 to $68). Highlights include true-to-the-original lipsticks (like red hues that are perfect replicas of 1930s to '40s shades), cream mascara, brightening powders, vintage-inspired fragrances, and much more. In addition, find hosiery by What Katy Did and a selection of men's grooming products; plus, we're told by-appointment makeup services, special events, and classes are coming soon.
Hours: Monday through Wednesday from 11am—6pm, Thursday though Saturday from 11am—7pm, and Sunday from 11am–5pm.
