Beyonce, Jessica Alba, and Sofia Vergara have all been spotted in Martha Medeiros' luxurious lace creations — and as of this week, the Brazilian designer's stateside clientele can shop her handmade gowns on their home turf. Originally set to open in November, the South American talent quietly opened her first U.S. flagship Monday on Melrose Place, making it her sixth store worldwide.
The 1,200-square-foot space offers Madeiros' latest collection of lace dresses, evening wear, and ready-to-wear separates, including the skirt Bey wore while in Brazil a few years back. There'll also be in-house seamstresses and embroiderers who can create custom pieces for clients.
The designer is known for working with women artisans in rural Brazilian communities, empowering them to turn their expertise in lacemaking into income.
