Yet aother fashion brand is ditching chilly New York Fashion Week for LA's sunny winter skies. New York-based designer Rachel Comey will show her fall 2017 collection at international contemporary art gallery Hauser Wirth & Schimmel next year, reports Women's Wear Daily.
Comey's fashion show will take over the buzzy DTLA Arts District museum Tuesday, February 7, 2017. Known for her forward-thinking silhouettes and artful textiles, the designer's famous fans include actresses Rashida Jones and Parker Posey, performance artist/author/filmmaker Miranda July, and Man Repeller mogul Leandra Medine, to name a few (and we expect the LA-based ladies to be stationed at the FROW).
Comey joins a slew of designers who've eschewed the traditional NYFW schedule for their fall 2017 shows, including LA-based Rachel Zoe, NY-based Rebecca Minkoff, Tommy Hilfiger, and Dior; WWD notes that Tom Ford is rumored to be making LA his runway "around Oscar weekend."
