In Wildfang's own words, the feminist retailer is "not a brand, we are a band" that's out to "liberate menswear, one bowtie at a time." If you, like us, are behind that mission, then you'll be happy to know that the charitable Portland-based company beloved by Kim Gordon and Evan Rachel Wood is opening its first-ever LA boutique in Silver Lake next month.
Slated to open Monday, October 1 next door to Parachute Home (and just a few steps away from new arrival Blue Star Donuts and Coffee), the 1,200-square-foot space will stock the anti-brand's own line of clothing (including its signature Wild Feminist sweaters and stylish suiting collections) alongside footwear, jewelry, and accessories from brands like Vans, Converse, RVCA, and others.
Creative director Taralyn Thuot tells us that "when looking for a location for our first-ever California store, we knew Silver Lake was the spot. It's a little edgy, a little bold, and a little playful, just like us. Plus, we have some killer neighbors in Retrosuperfuture, Depop, and Parachute. We also look to the city to inspire our store designs. While our DNA never changes, the ways we bring it to life is bespoke to each location. LA comes through in bolder uses of concrete and iridescent [details]."
