We love a stylish LA lifestyle center and all, but there are times that call for retail therapy in drive-thru form. That's sort of the concept behind the Nordstrom Local non-shop that opened nearly a year ago on Melrose Place, where the luxe department store's online shoppers can pick up (or return) orders without dealing with mall crowds. The big-name retailer débuted its second super-convenient concept hub, which officially opened in Brentwood today.
Located across from Brentwood Country Mart, the space offers online order pickup and returns, curbside pickup (simply park in the rear lot, then text or call the shop), gift wrapping, and tailoring and dry cleaning services as well as appointment and drop-in personal styling with Trunk Club (the online styling startup that Nordstrom bought for $350 million four years ago). Online Nordstrom shoppers can also ship items to the "store" to try them on before they buy.
The store features decor and furnishings from Anthropologie — and if the plush pink seating or colorful vases in the space catch your eye, you can find them on Nordstrom's site, too.
Nordstrom tells us it plans on hosting regular events with its Brentwood customer (read: predominantly mothers) in mind, like stroller tune-ups and other kid-friendly happenings.
Up next, the department store giant is headed to Downtown's The Bloc, where its third inventory-less boutique in LA opens Friday, October 12. In addition to the usual drop-in services, the location will offer amenities geared towards Nordstrom's DTLA shoppers, like shoe shining and grooming.
