Taschen has published titles on everything from fashion to travel to our city's own historic landmarks — including ones like the legendary Crossroads of the World, which is home to its LA offices (but not for long). The international publishing house is relocating from the storied Streamline Moderne center (which is supposedly America's first outdoor shopping mall), a move that just so happens to coincide with its biggest ever biannual book blowout — and it's all happening this weekend.
From Thursday, January 24 to Saturday, January 26 (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Sunday, January 27 (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.), the renowned publisher will be clearing out its soon-to-be former Hollywood HQ, which you've probably seen it in movies like LA Confidential, Argo, and Cafe Society, to name a few. Expect to score 25 to 75% off thousands of display and slightly-damaged (but obviously still readable) tomes covering design, architecture, interior decor, style, photography, film, art, advertising, and many more intriguing subjects, including out-of-print and rare archival publications.
That's not all: We're told there'll also be "artifacts from Taschen's colorful LA history" at the four-day sale — Bookworms, you won't want to miss this one.
