Monrow Shutters Its Flagship Boutique in Venice

The LA-based luxe basics label opened on Rose Avenue two years ago.

Rose Avenue has lost a Gwyneth Paltrow-approved source for luxe basics. Per Instagram, LA-based Monrow decided to shutter its Venice flagship two weeks ago.

The brand revealed the news on January 9 and closed the store's doors that weekend, adding that fans should "keep an eye out in 2019 to see what new things we have up our sleeves, but in the mean time we'll always have a bit of our heart on Rose [Avenue]."

Known for its super-soft tees, sweaters, and other Cali-casual essentials, the brand was founded in 2007 by designers Michelle Wenke and Megan George, who opened the store two years ago. The label popped up at Westfield Century City and Platform last year and has collaborated with everyone from Goop to the Surf Lodge; celeb fans include Reese Witherspoon, Blake Lively, and many others.

Though its standalone shop is no more, Monrow is still going strong. We've reached out to find out if there are plans to relocate their shop elsewhere in LA — stay tuned for more.
