L.A.'s menswear scene has scored a new spot for bespoke Italian-made apparel by way of New York. Star-faved brand Ari (which counts Tom Cruise, Ellen DeGeneres, and Jeremy Piven among its fans) opened its first first West Coast boutique at Sunset Plaza, marking its third U.S. outpost.
The brand quietly opened last November and held a grand opening bash and ribbon cutting ceremony earlier this month, when Larry King and other guests joined Israel-bred founder and creative director Moshe Ben-Ari in fêting its L.A. arrival. (Ari's flagship store opened in New York's SoHo nabe in 2001 and a Miami shop débuted in 2016.)
Located in Nicole Miller's former space (and across the street from fellow men's shop Sand), the 2,200-square-foot West Hollywood shop stocks Ari's full collection of sharp suiting and rugged-cool Cali essentials like basic tees, button-down shirts, cashmere, denim, trousers, blazers, and leather jackets ($165 to $4,000) — which are all handmade in Italy and can be tailored to every detail, from the fit to the sleeve or pant leg length to accents like zippers and more. Ari's pro athlete and celebrity clientele are particularly fond of the label's custom knitwear, which is the perfect wardrobe layering piece for L.A.'s warmer weather, Ben-Ari tells us.
The shop also stocks leather sneakers and boots ($595 to $895), silk pocket squares and scarves ($85 and up), ties in "means business" prints and hues ($160), edgy-luxe belts in crocodile and ostrich leather ($395 to $595), and leather carryalls ($1,195), plus fragrances and Tuscany-based jewelry designer Riccardo Goti's sterling silver rings, leather-accented bracelets, and chain necklaces ($295 to 1,590).
Tailoring session got you thirsty? You can sip on a glass of Scotch or Japaneses whisky from Macallan, Hibiki, and Yamazaki or throw back a shot of Casamigos tequila to fuel your retail therapy (though we definitely don't recommend shopping while sloshed).
Scroll through the gallery above to see more inside the shop, then see below for the store's hours and address (oh, and we should mention that there's free valet parking, too).
