Remember Fred Segal's seaside outpost? After a minor delay, the legendary retailer's coastal comeback at Malibu Village is officially set for Saturday, April 6—and to celebrate, the shop is inviting everyone to a very groovy grand opening party.
Happening from 1 to 5 p.m., the family-friendly fête promises a trunk show by The Little Market (which will be opening its second-ever shop within Fred Segal Malibu), treats from Sweet Laurel Bakery, coffee by Café Luxxe, and margaritas by Casamigos. Partygoers an also enjoy aura readings, mini makeovers by Sephora, live music, and a DJ, while fashionable florist Sea Lily Malibu will be recreating the shop's iconic ivy wall (all the better for your selfies).
As previously mentioned, the cult-cool department boutique is taking over Malibu Cinemas' 4,000-square-foot space and will offer women's and men's clothing (as well as the Fred Segal Originals line of Cali-cool wardrobe staples), footwear (including an exclusive sneaker shop), activewear, jewelry, accessories, beauty, gifts, and a floral shop. Expect brands like 3×1, By Far, LNDR, Mara Hoffman, Proenza Schouler, Staud, Simon Miller, and many other cult-favorite luxury labels.
The store marks Fred Segal's third L.A. outpost after its West Hollywood flagship—which relocated from Melrose Avenue to Sunset Boulevard back in 2017—and its location at LAX. (There are also stores in Germany, Taiwan, and Malaysia.)
Nodding to Fred Segal's history (the boutique originally arrived in the luxury-loving seaside city in 1975 and helped transform its shopping scene), the shopping party also promises a vintage '70s Volkswagen photobooth bus. The festivities will continue through Sunday, so come one, come all.
Stay tuned for more inside the boutique—in the meantime, see you at the 'Bu bash?
