While Apple-like cannabis shops are cropping up left and right these days, how many of them are the creators of one of the world's best inventions? On that note, Dosist (formerly Hmbldt) has debuted a "wellness experience" on Abbot Kinney, marking the L.A.-based brand's first-ever retail space.
Sandwiched between Gjelina and fellow plant-powered lifestyle brand Saje Natural Wellness, the 800-square-foot shop opened in early April and stocks the cannabis company's full range of medical-grade vaporizer pens ($40 for 50 doses, $100 for 200 doses), which deliver a reliable 2.25mg dose with every inhale.
"From the moment you enter the space, your experience as our guest becomes a guided journey designed to inspire, educate and engage you on the potential of dose-controlled cannabis as a powerful and natural tool to change your life," Dosist CEO Gunner Winston says in a statement. Noting the Venice stretch's popularity among locals and international visitors alike, Winston explains that the brand wants to "transform how they think about cannabis and healthcare."
Upon arrival, a Dosist guide will walk you through a "bright and calming tunnel surrounded by lush vegetation" and give you the 411 on the brand's game-changing vape pens. The brand currently has six formulations, each "expertly engineered" to contain varying ratios of CBD (the ingredient that helps treat everything from pain to anxiety and more) and THC (the psychoactive compound that gets you high).
The sleek white shelves stock something for everyone: Bliss (which has a 9:1 ratio of THC to CBD to help you feel "just the right amount of good"), Sleep (8:1 THC to CBD), Calm (10:1 CBD to THC for maximum "inner peacefulness"), Relief (2:1 THC to CBD for mild to moderate pain), and the THC-driven (and sexy time-ready) Passion and Arouse concoctions.
