Fashionable fragrance lovers, rejoice. Six years after professing its plans to open in Los Angeles, cult-favorite Swedish brand Byredo is opening its first West Coast boutique next month on Melrose Avenue, and in the same building as fellow Scandinavians and collaborators Acne Studios, no less.
Scheduled to open Thursday, Feb. 13 (just in time for last-minute Valentine's Day gifting!), the 3,030-square-foot store is taking over the space formerly occupied by Conrad Buff Art Gallery — a fitting move for Byredo founder and fine artist-turned fine perfumer Ben Gorham, who was inspired to launch the brand in 2006 after soaking up the scents of India during a trip to his mother's hometown.
As far as the shop, expect to shop the luxury lifestyle label's full line of body and home fragrances, including best-sellers like Gypsy Water, Mojave Ghost, Bal D'Afrique, Slow Dance, and others in full-sized 50-ml. bottles ($180 and up), rollerballs ($78 and up), candles ($45 and up), room sprays ($120 and up), lotions ($43 to $95), and more. It's likely also carry the brand's fashion collection, such as footwear, bags, small leather goods, perfume cases, phone holders, and other accessories ($120 to $4,200).
The West Hollywood boutique follows Byredo's recent opening in Beijing. Once open, it'll be the brand's ninth outpost in the world, joining other standalone locations in London, Miami, New York, Paris, Seoul, Shanghai, and its native Stockholm.
Stay tuned for the exact opening date and more.
