Therabody's Newest Smart Massage Devices & Organic CBD Body Care Are the Ultimate R&R Dream Team

We all need some good stress-reducing news.

In early March, we met with Therabody founder and chiropractor Dr. Jason Wersland and CEO Ben Nazarian at their company's sleek new L.A. offices for a sneak peek at its latest gadgets and products. Much has changed since that pre-lockdown (and precautionary no-handshake) meeting nearly two months ago, and we've been waiting to share their exciting stress-reducing, good snooze-inducing news ever since then.

Today, the brand — formerly Theragun — has officially unveiled the fourth generation of its smart percussive massage devices ($199 to $599), which have a quieter and stronger motor that reaches 60% deeper than its competitors. That's not all: Therabody's first line of USDA-certified organic and cruelty-free CBD body care products, which are now available for pre-order.

The West Hollywood-based company upgraded its name to reflect its holistic approach to wellness beyond its high-tech therapy tool. Enter: TheraOne ($55 to $80), a collection of full-spectrum CBD topicals and tinctures designed to relieve and restore sore muscles and promote better sleep.

During our March meet-up, Wersland and Nazarian explained that while they could've easily churned out an adequate product at a lower cost, they opted jump a few extra hoops for USDA certification to ensure the cleanest and most effective goods for their clientele, which includes Olympians, Paralympians, and stars like Adam Levine, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, the Kardashians, Diplo, Steve Aoki, and many others.

Translation: The Colorado-made lotions, balms, and oils are manufactured in a strict process that guarantees that no toxins or impurities in the soil or air are absorbed during the hemp plant's cultivation. Need proof? You can even see every single product's certificate of analysis online.

We're already well-rested fans of the Sleep drops ($80), which has helped us get better shut-eye sans the grogginess (trust, we've had two quarantined months to test it out), and the Revive body balm ($65), a shea butter concoction (which also comes in stick form) infused with organic turmeric and menthol that we've been slathering all over our WFH-wound shoulders.

The line is also comprised of the ultra-soothing Recover body lotion, which calms muscles with eucalyptus, arnica, and peppermint; the warming Activate lotion, which uses turmeric CO2, white camphor, and black pepper oils to boost circulation and reduce inflammation; and the Soothe massage oil, which calms and cools the body with jojoba, lavender, and eucalyptus oils.

The brand's stronger and quieter Theragun is now equipped with Bluetooth and a smooth new motor that allows users to customize the device's speed and force (that's between 1750 to 2400 percussions per minute for you numbers nerds). Tech-savvy relief-seekers can also connect the therapeutic tool to Therabody's new app and create and share personalized pre-set programs; download new routines; and sync to Apple Health, Google Fit, and Samsung Health.

The recovery device comes in three options and accessory combinations designed to address a range of lifestyles and activity levels, and select versions include an OLED screen, wireless charging. The Theragun Prime is best for everyday tension, while the Elite is an ideal post-workout tool. Those seeking top-of-the-line relief will find it in the advanced Pro, which comes with two extra batteries, a rotating arm, and an extended warranty. For those looking for on-the-go massages, the Theragun Mini offers a travel-ready treatment in a pocket-sized package.
