If you, too, are experiencing sweatpants fatigue (especially since Angelenos may be expected to stay home well into summer), allow Staud's collaboration with New Balance to reinvigorate your quarantine fitness routine and wardrobe. The cult-favorite L.A. label's retro-cool capsule with the Boston-based athletic brand officially drops today — and it's guaranteed to add a rainbow-powered pep to your workout step, whether indoors or out.

The New Balance x Staud capsule is comprised of stylish crop tops, track pants, running shorts, and leggings alongside sweatshirt dresses, windbreakers, and gear bags ($60 to $195) that are shoppable right now. We're particularly obsessed with the summer-ready navy striped bodysuit ($90), the cinched hem top and bungee pants combo ($60 to $80), and the color-blocked crop top in Pink Orchid ($60). Rounding out the line are classic 997 sneakers ($230) that feature Staud's playful twist and a luxe leather and nylon duffle bag ($295) that was inspired by the L.A. label's best-selling Ronnie bag; both are available for pre-order for late July to August delivery.

"Our initial muse for the collection was Princess Diana leaving the gym. We loved this example of an independent, strong woman prioritizing fitness for themselves," explains Staud co-founder and creative director Sarah Staudinger. "The images of her in bike shorts with a leather bag felt so relatable to us. We were drawn to the imagery, color and icons of this same time in the '90s."

"Another image that inspired us when first going into the collaboration was the iconic image of Susan Sarandon wearing New Balance sneakers in Cannes in 1978. This photo represented the essence of the collaboration- feminine, cool and timeless," continues Staudinger.

While the L.A.-based designer infused every piece with her signature vintage-inspired pops of color, the collection incorporates New Balance's high-performance materials, such Bodywear fabric that offers built-in support, lightweight ripstop nylon, and functional touches like pockets for keys, phones, and earbuds. "In Los Angeles, our lifestyle is very active — from hiking to yoga, running, and pilates. This collection opened our eyes to the Staud girl outside the existing hours we have come to know her in, and we believe that she is looking for exciting active options just as she is looking for an event dress or chic set," Staudinger continues.

The collab marks Staud's first-ever activewear collection, which fuses the brand's California roots with New Balance's New England-bred aesthetic. "Part of our brand identity has always been to create timeless fashion pieces for the modern woman, so working with a heritage brand such as New Balance, [which has] been around since 1906, felt like a perfect collaboration."
