In case you missed Melrose Avenue's street art-fueled fundraiser earlier this month, there's still time to support the eclectic shopping stretch's indie businesses. Now through Sunday, Aug. 23, Save Melrose — a charitable initiative organized by Headline Records, Rebel Rebel Hollywood, and Some Cult — is bringing its fine art auction online to help damaged shops rebuild after destruction from the unrest in May.
Bid on over 25 original works of art created live during the two-day event by local talents, including Amy Smith, B-Luv, Corie Mattie, Inksap, Jennifer Korsen, Laney Chantal, M., MegZany, Ricky Sencion, Schlome, and many others. The auction also includes donated pieces by Daynaland, Gilliane Sydiongco, Johnny G., and Josh Alves.
Items start at $100 to $650 and up, and all proceeds benefit Pearls Organic Nail Salon, shoe boutiques Tony K. and Dr. Martens, and clothing shop Reloaded. If you prefer to donate directly to each business, you can contribute to their Gofundme efforts.
