Lisa Says Gah Lands at Fred Segal for a Pop-Up as Playful as Its Prints

The trend-happy S.F.-based brand finds a temporary home inside L.A.'s most iconic retailer.

Arguably L.A.'s most iconic retailer, Fred Segal has long championed emerging, indie brands, and that's still been a cornerstone of its business since the shopping hub moved its flagship location from Melrose to Sunset five years ago. Its latest temporary resident arrives at the sprawling 12,000 square foot space just in time to dress trend-obsessed Angelenos for the summer: Lisa Says Gah, a San Francisco-based brand that's beloved by It Girls for its affordable, vintage-inspired styles that are made ethically in California.

Founded by former Nasty Gal buyer Lisa Bühler, Lisa Says Gah has taken up a corner of real estate in the West Hollywood storefront for its first in-store pop-up. The brand was launched as an online retailer back in 2014, and it was created to spotlight the latest and coolest small and sustainable brands (think Holiday the Label, Paloma Wool, and Toit Volant), but the Fred Segal pop-up will exclusively feature the latest styles from LSG's own collection, which is proudly made locally.

"This is our first permanent (short-term) pop-up in a retail space where customers can explore Lisa Says Gah Collection in a fully realized format," Bühler says of the seasonal shopping space. "We're eager to get back out there and give customers a chance to discover us, and we feel Fred Segal is the perfect partner to do so with." The space itself is just as quirky and colorful as the styles LSG stocks, with flower-shaped features (racks, tables, mirrors) and custom wallpaper that boasts the Bühler infamous exclamation "Gah!", the namesake of her brand.

As for what shoppers can expect to find when perusing the pop-up, along with pastel-hued shirt dresses and blouses, ribbed knit sets, and silky pajamas (that make for a stylish outfit outside your bedroom, too) in wavy warp check and daisy prints, you'll find summer-ready accessories, too. Yes, that includes this season's biggest trend, the bucket hat, as well as phone cases, totes, and pouches playfully printed with fruit, cow, and Gah! patterns.

Another reason Angelenos will love shopping here? With prices for pieces ranging from $19 to $179, the collection is as affordable as it is cool and current.
