Arushi Kapoor Inaugurates New Art Warehouse With 'Lawless Reflections'

At 24 years old, Arushi Kapoor opens first-of-its-kind art gallery 'Arushi' in L.A.

Arushi Kapoor – the art consultant, dealer, gallerist, author, and curator – is one of the art world's up-and-coming names with a laundry list of successful endeavors. Her most recent venture? A new art warehouse in L.A.'s Temple-Beaudry neighborhood that champions emerging artists and local businesses.

Set to open Thursday, August 26, 'Arushi' is located on Temple Street in an unassuming neighborhood and building. What the new warehouse will feature though is anything but. The 12,000 square-foot space will serve Angelenos as an invite-only art gallery and an artisanal marketplace that highlights emerging and female artists and small businesses.

Apart from exhibiting contemporary abstract and up-and-coming street artists, the cultural center will be L.A.'s first galley to present work from Indian progressive masters. As a marketplace, Arushi will offer products from local businesses with an emphasis on those that are female-owned.

The gallery's first show will feature Canadian artist Lindsay Dawn's solo exhibition 'Lawless Reflections,' which showcases the artist's journey through deep self-reflection from an unrestricted, ego-less perspective. Dawn's art has been included in the personal collections of celebs like Kylie Jenner, Lebron James, Young Thug, and Drake.

No stranger to fame, Kapoor's resumé is one to be revered. She utilized her business degree from the Marshall School of Business at USC to found ARTSop, an online catalog that connects buyers and sellers that has since evolved into an inventory management system. ARTSop Fine Art Consulting now offers art curatorial and consultancy services while also purchasing blue chip artworks.

Kapoor has hosted previous art exhibits in Hong Kong, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, London, and Paris. As a consultant, she has simulated emotionally engaging environments in residential, hospitality, and institutional settings. Not to mention Kapoor's first book – which she wrote at the age of 16 (yes, 16) – "Talking Art by Arushi Kapoor," is part of several libraries including the Tate Modern in London.

Keep an eye out on her on Instagram for more details.
