Calling all hypebeasts: You no longer need to hop on a jet to Beantown to shop one of the East Coast's coolest streetwear havens. Cult-favorite Boston shop Bodega has opened its first West Coast location at none other than ROW DTLA — just don't expect Waze to drop you off right at its front door.
Given that the O.G. outpost is known for being "hidden in plain sight" (savvy sneakerheads arrive at the Boston shop via a Snapple machine), Bodega's 8,000-square-foot LA space is cleverly tucked away in Downtown's produce district. Step through an unassuming warehouse door and you'll find a fruit-filled market, which leads to Bodega's real entrance. Once you're inside, expect to find an entire first floor filled with new and throwback kicks from Nike, Adidas, Asics, New Balance, and more alongside a rotating pop-in shop, where Vault by Vans is currently holding court.
Up on the mezzanine, an open area invites visitors to hang out for a while: Expect to find magazines, art and design books, and more. On the top floor, explore menswear and accessories from a mix of streetwear and luxury brands like Iggy, Engineered Garments, Assid, Yeezy, Stone Island, and Acronym, to name just a few. Of course, the shelves will also stock upcoming collabs and limited edition collections from streetwear and footwear heavyweights.
The sneakerhead-faved retailer joins a slew of stylish tenants at the Arts District hangout, but be warned: It can be tricky finding the place. Your best bet is to park at ROW's massive garage then walk through the shopping center toward East 8th Street. Bodega is open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 7pm and Sunday from 12 to 6pm.
