To honor Cali's recent ban on the use of animal hair and python skin in fashion and beauty, as well as the start of Fashion Revolution week, online sustainable multi-brand platform Paz Lifestyle has today opened the doors to its pop-up in the heart of Melrose Avenue.
Following the success of its first pop-up in 2021 in Soho, New York, the Melrose pop-up will feature a collection of emerging sustainable brands, some of which hail from Latin America and that will be presented in L.A. for the first time. Many of these labels come from Peru while others are based in Mexico, Colombia, and Bolivia.
Guests will also be able to indulge in an exclusive and interactive shopping experience with the founders and chief executive officers of some of the most promising sustainability-driven brands featured at the pop-up – including organic beauty brand Nutu and apple waste-based vegan shoe brand Sylven New York. And on Earth Day, Friday, April 22, the space will be hosting a VIP opening party sponsored by the Trade Commission of Peru in L.A.
Expect also to find other sustainability-driven brands at the pop-up including recycled silver jewelry brand D'Francisco, wood pulp-based fashion label Lâcher Prise, L.A.-based upcycling design studio Loti, and cruelty-free lipstick brand Valdé Beauty. Apart from shopping, Angelenos should check in with the brand to learn more about sustainability panels that will take place throughout April and May.
With more than a decade of experience in the luxury retail industry – working with brands like Elie Tahari, Miu Miu, Christian Dior, and Prada – founder and creative director Isabella Montoya Paz founded Paz Lifestyle in 2019 with the aim of creating a destination for a sustainable lifestyle through art, culture, and aesthetics while fostering awareness of the effects fashion has on people and the environment. Her philosophy for the platform is based on discovering the balance between consumers' desires and the environment's well-being. Plus, 90% of Paz Lifestyle's brands are companies founded by women and 70% of them are BIPOC.
Among the Peruvian brands you can shop on Paz Lifestyle's site are Almaraz, Amarena, Ana G, Andrea Llosa, Annaiss Yucra, Anti Toast, Ayni, Blanca Pukara, Butrich, Child's way, Escvdo, Genes, Lima Sagrada, Loti, Nel Blu Swimwear, Qaytu, Sophia Lerner, and Theodore Herald. Mexican labels on the platform include Doizpe and Malaumx; Colombian brands include Lina Osario and Vattea; and Bolivian brand Ponchos Rojas.
