We've put together a curated selection of Los Angeles' most thrilling, eerie, and entertaining events for you and your group to savor this month. Our lineup offers something for everyone, ranging from spine-tingling theme park fright nights to lively costume parties, family-friendly themed hikes, and more laid-back options like outdoor movie screenings and additional enjoyable experiences.

Halloween Horror Nights (Hollywood): Make your way (screaming) through terrifying mazes at Halloween Horror Nights for the annual event held at Universal Studios Hollywood. Some of this year's mazes are based on The Haunting of Hill House, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, The Walking Dead, and Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. Scare zones are replete with nightmarish creatures that you'll want to do your best to avoid, so be sure to do what we did and take enough friends with you to act as your barricade. And don't forget to bring proof of vaccination or of a negative test taken within 72 hours of your visit.

Nights of the Jack (Calabasas): Calabasas' notorious Halloween happening, Nights of the Jack, is back with its self-guided walking trail at King Gillette Ranch. This family-friendly showcase isn't your average pumpkin patch – it's an illuminated outdoor gallery of artfully carved gourds, from tiny to larger-than-life. Plus, they've devised a spook-tacular illuminated light show under the autumn sky. Hot cider and seasonal cocktails are available at the Spookeasy bar and little ones get festive fall treats. Also, prep yourself for a live pumpkin carver, top L.A. food trucks, and several other IG-worthy moments.

Angel of Light (DTLA): Angel of Light is the brand new haunting, immersive theatrical and horror production where horror fanatics will witness the gripping and terrifying story of Rota Krisha. The 60-minute experience fuses live theater with advanced technology to take those who dare deep into the past, including the power of Dolby Atmos sound, projection mapping, shifting light and music, and power strobe lights.

Movie Nights At The Godfrey Hotel iO Rooftop Bar & Lounge (Hollywood): Halloween Movie Nights at the Godfrey Hotel are back at I|O Rooftop Bar & Lounge. All are welcome to join for weekly screenings of scary movies on the rooftop's 60 ft outdoor screen. Movie Under the Stars- The Nightmare Before Christmas Screening (Playa Vista): This is Halloween! To celebrate, Runway Playa Vista is hosting a movie night at their cozy open-air cinema. They will be showcasing Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Come early to secure your spot and place your take-out order from one of the many eateries at Runway.

Grandmaster Recorders Presents The Smashing Pumpkins (Hollywood): Grandmaster Recorders will be hosting its third Musical Dining Series, celebrating the Smashing Pumpkins. Diners will savor a five-course family-style tasting menu created by Executive Chef Blake Shailes featuring highlights such as Honey Nut Squash Arancini, Pumpkin Focaccia, Chestnut Garganelli & more.

BALEENkitchen (Redondo Beach): The Balloween Vampire Pirate Bash offers an exciting evening with a dinner feast and party. Co-hosted by the Rock Music Alliance and The Portofino Hotel & Marina, the event features DJ Love's music, mesmerizing performances by RMA GoGo Girls, and a costume contest at midnight. Halloween Party & Cannabis Costume Contest Presented by The Studio Lounge (WeHo): Cake Moss is hosting this year's Hallo-weed party at The Artist Tree, which includes tricks and treats of all sorts in the form of spooky themed cannabis cocktails, entertainment, and some ghostly surprises. Enter if you dare to be fabulous and leave with some goodies and perhaps even a chance to be entered into the West Hollywood Community Costume Contest on Halloween night that will feature celebrity judges.

Haunted Hotel Halloween Party at SLS Hotel (Beverly Hills): SLS Beverly Hills' Haunted Hotel Halloween Party will be a costume soiree in the hotel's enchanted speakeasy, Wasp in a Wig, which is inspired by Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass. DJ Skemaddox will be spinning tunes all night. Horrific Spirits at Moxy & AC Hotel (DTLA): Situated across Crypto.com Arena, Moxy & AC Hotel DTLA is hosting a Horrific Spirits event in honor of Halloween. Guests will be able to begin their journey through the hotel's bars starting at 5pm to experience terror-themed cocktails and oodles of sugar-coated treats. Stop by the energetic oasis, Bar Moxy to get the evening going with their newest bourbon cocktail, The Mummy.
