When one brand's size 6 might be another's size 8, it's no surprise that stressing over the perfect fit seems like anything but retail therapy. Enter CALA, a new luxury shopping platform that aims to simplify the sizing situation with the help of a 3-D body scanner.
For its second collection, CALA tapped designer and fashion photog Anthony Cucculelli (who's worked with Diane Von Furstenberg and Yigal Azrouel and shot for Rachel Zoe), Adam Lippes, and others. Set to launch October 15th, the range will feature "[an] East-West leather jacket, slouchy pajama dressing, and sharp smoking trouser, balancing the energy of New York City with the laid-back attitude of LA and the louche vibes of Italy." For an idea of pricing, the brand's first collection ranges from $395 for a silk blouse to $795 for an edgy LBD to $1095 for a silk bomber jacket.
To shop CALA, you'll need to get scanned at its IRL pop-up, which we're told is coming to LA October 19th and 20th. The events feature private scanning rooms, which are "equipped with millimeter-accurate sensors" to get your body's exact measurements (it's apparently 76% more accurate than traditional sizing methods). From there, you can buy styles without trying them on; your bespoke garment will be shipped in 10 days.
Intrigued? You'll need to sign up at CALA's website first to get invited to their influencer-hosted 3-D scanning and shopping events. Register for their upcoming LA visit here.
