At just 300 square feet, Assouline's first outpost in Los Angeles may actually be doing a favor for stylish bookworms with a spending (or window shopping) habit. The independent French publisher's cozy but curated book boutique recently opened in West Hollywood, bringing its stylish library of luxury culture titles to the Pacific Design Center.
In addition to offering a selection of tomes on fashion, design, photography, art, architecture, and more, the space stocks vintage books handpicked by founders Prosper and Martine Assouline. To complement fashionable bookshelves and coffee tables, the shop also houses candles, stationery, and vintage objects.
The space (which is Assouline's second SoCal location and 15th worldwide) also features a hand-painted floor by fashion-faved contemporary graffiti artist Retna — not a bad way to remind those with their nose stuck in a book to look up (or down, rather) and snap a #shoefie with their book haul.
