For nearly a decade, TENOVERSIX has scored well-deserved spots on many a best-of LA shopping list — and with good reason. Known for its curated mix of cult-fave luxury labels and indie designers, the Melrose Avenue boutique has been a destination for cool-girl style, which is why we're incredibly sad to report that the retail icon is closing its LA boutique's doors forever next month.
Per a press release, stylish store owners Kristen Lee and Brady Cunningham reveal that they're focusing their energy on expanding their Dallas outpost and opening stores in Miami (due later this year in time for Art Basel) and New York City (set to open in 2018).
"Since we opened our first store in Los Angeles…things have shifted dramatically with new galleries, restaurants, bars, and retail taking on a life of its own," Lee explains in the announcement. "It's an entirely new landscape compared to the days when we were one of the first to offer a complete retail experience comprising a curated assortment of emerging fashion, design, homeware and printed matter. There wasn't much of that back then."
She adds that "things change however, and so do we, which is why its so important for us to acknowledge our West Coast camaraderie of designers and clientele have helped shape TENOVERSIX into what it is today. We have loved being part of the creative community and collective expression that is Los Angeles as essentially this is the city that has not only shaped our brand, but our style and our vibe."
To soften the blow, the store's hosting a major closing sale starting tomorrow. Swing by to bid adieu to the beloved store while saving up to 80% off clothing, footwear, accessories, home decor, stationery, and more from designers like Shaina Mote, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Rachel Comey, and others.
