The celeb-faved nightlife gurus at H.Wood Group are at it again. After débuting of Delilah last year and Peppermint Club this past spring, the company has unveiled Poppy, a stylishly surreal space that's already hosted a star-studded VMAs after-party before the paint has even dried.
Landing just up the street from celeb hangout The Nice Guy on La Cienega in STK's former space, the whimsical concept bar will be open Thursdays only from 10pm to 2pm. Designed by John Sofio of Built, Inc. and inspired by classic fairytales with a grown-up twist, Poppy's fantasy wonderland features luxurious booths upholstered in decadent silk fabrics; floor-to-ceiling bookcases that hold vintage globes, nature-inspired decor, and more; and a menagerie of taxidermy animals that lend themselves to the club's eccentric yet stylish ambience.
Over in the next room, an indoor/outdoor patio offers an atrium-inspired hangout with faux poppies acting as 3D floral wallpaper, cozy seating, and pink-and-white checkerboard flooring. The dreamy venue will also feature a "bohemian cast of modern mermaids, peacock poppies, garden gypsies, human animals… and swinging storytellers," while guests can enjoy caricature portraits and personalized poems.
