There have been plenty of designers who've successfully blended SoCal and European style, but Vans and Karl Lagerfeld take the cake for putting a Parisian twist on classic Cali style. the Costa Mesa-based brand has teamed with the legendary luxury designer behind Chanel for a fall 2017 capsule collection, which is set to arrive in select stores and online next week.
The 12-piece range ($40 to $300) features Vans' signature shoe styles in luxe leather, logo-happy basics, and a tee immortalizing the fashion kaiser's profile (say what you will about Lagerfeld's obsession with paying tribute to himself), all in a monochromatic palette. Standout pieces include the iconic checkerboard slip-on with Lagerfeld's cameo, the debut of new laceless platform versions of Vans' classic SK8-Hi and Old Skool shoes (each reinvented in quilted black leather), a raglan bomber jacket, and a black leather backpack.
Into it? The capsule collection will be available starting next Thursday, September 7 at select Vans and Karl Lagerfeld Stores and online at Vans.com and Karl.com.
