Ever since 9th and Broadway began buzzing with the arrival of Acne Studios, Ace Hotel, Urban Outfitters, BNKR, and many other cool brands, Downtown is looking more like its bustling former self. This weekend, one of LA's oldest boulevards is throwing a massive neighborhood block party as part of Bringing Back Broadway's 10-year celebration. Even better? The DTLA event is sponsored by Councilmember Jose Huizar, meaning the festivities are free to attend.
This Saturday, January 27 from 3pm to midnight, Night On Broadway will take over 10 city blocks and six historic theaters from 1st Street all the way to Olympic Boulevard. Four outdoor stages will feature lineups of both big-name and emerging acts, including the B-52s, WAR, La Santa Cecilia, JJUUJUU, and many others, while a full sched of local performers, artists, installations, and more (including avant-garde circus Lucent Dossier, the LA Derby Dolls, and others) will keep attendees entertained.
Fashionable festgoers will have plenty of retail therapy, too: Connected Fest will be holding court in the Vendor Village from 8th to 9th Streets with over 25 shops and brands, including cool-kid DTLA shop The Well, record and lifestyle label Dim Mak, edgy-chic basics label Drifter, streetwear brand Stussy, and many, many others.
Of course, there'll be food trucks, beer gardens, and the obligatory festival ferris wheel, plus plenty of activities for kids and grown-ups.
Excited? See the full lineup, festival map, street closure info, and more deets over on Night On Broadway's website.
