Gloveworx's New Boxing Studio at Westfield Century City Will Help You Burn Those Carbs From Eataly

If you've ever had the urge to uppercut your way out of a crowded shopping center or run laps immediately after gorging on that greasy mall pretzel, then here's one way to channel that stress while still being within arm's (or a fist's) reach of retail or food therapy. After bringing its model-faved workouts to Santa Monica three years back, Gloveworx has opened its second LA boxing studio at Westfield Century City — meaning you can burn off those carbs you scarfed down next door. The 3,200-square-foot sweat haven boasts a full-size boxing competition ring and plenty of space for weightlifting, strength and conditioning training, and more calorie-burning methods. If punching away at speed bags or logging miles on Woodway Curve treadmills isn't enough, the space also houses VersaCimbers, Olympic lifting tracks and platforms, and plenty of resistance training gear.

Number-crunching fitness fiends will dig ALPHA, Gloveworx's new data-driven digital wellness and performance platform that tracks everything from athlete's workout patterns, diet, and more via wearable tech. Given that the studio was founded by former U.S. Nationals heavyweight boxer Leyon Azubuike, it makes sense that Gloveworx contenders would be the first outside of the pro athlete community to have access to the platform.

As far as classes, both one-one-one and group workouts are available in a variety of levels and styles, from the slower-paced GWX 101 intro sesh and the personalized high-energy Boom session to the Signature high-intensity circuit session to the Hurricane Strength & Power coaching and more. Pricing is $24 for single classes (or $20 for first-timers) and memberships are also available; learn more here.
