Earth, Gin, and Fire: Inside Terra Eataly's New Rooftop Restaurant
Westfield Century City's Eataly is home to some of the best eats in Los Angeles and their long-awaited rooftop restaurant Terra is the cherry on top. With incredible food, a knowledgeable and dedicated team, and breathtaking views, the grand finale of the Italian mecca's west coast outpost opens its doors today.
Climb up the spiral staircase past Eataly's wine section to the top floor where Terra brings together the elements of earth, gin, and fire. The outdoor dining terrace features stunning views of the city and mountainscape, a fire pit, a 20-year-old olive tree, and an active botanical garden that grows the lush elements that help make their refreshing cocktails and delectable dishes. The outdoor bar is primarily gin focused showcasing 50 gins from around the world, but also pours other yummy libations. Inside, the beautifully neutral space is designed around the open kitchen featuring a wood-burning stove that will give patrons a show of fire and expertise by some of the finest in culinary. Every detail is meticulous, from the almond wood used on the grill to the gin and wine lists.
Terra, translated to "earth" in Italian, is all about bringing it back to the basics making the ground-to-grill experience a reality by delivering simply delicious Italian food. The menu will feature seasonal California fare with a relaxing Italian touch. No dish will feature more than three or four ingredients. Standouts include mutton, pork, and beef arrosticini or "speared meat things," the ranch-fed meats, whole-grilled vegetables (you must try the artichoke!), and of course, pasta all presented as shareable meals-the Italian way. Oh, and did we mention to save room for the gelato cart that is sure to make it's way over to your table?
The eatery marks Eataly's first restaurant to accept reservations, which can be made by clicking here. In the meantime, you can scroll through the gallery above and get a taste of all you can expect at Terra.
Terra is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 11pm and Friday and Saturday from 5pm to midnight.
