Downtown Arts District dwellers seeking good hair now have a stylish new chop shop in their 'hood. Nova Arts Salon has landed at ROW DTLA, bringing creative, high-end cuts and color to the buzzing lifestyle center.

The terracotta-tinged salon was co-founded by expert colorist Cherin Choi and master chopper Sal Salcedo, who both trained at the legendary Toni & Guy Hairdessing Academy before sharpening their skills at celeb-faved hair haunts like Benjamin, Ramirez | Tran, and others. Cali-raised Choi's known for her expertise in creating kaleidoscopic tresses (just take a look at her lilac-streaked mane for proof) and turning dark strands into blonde sans damage. Mexico-bred Salcedo is renowned for his edgy-yet-effortless cuts, whether its short-hair-don't-care lengths and fringy bangs to face-framing shags and textured 'dos.

As far as services, haircuts are $150 to $300, blowouts are $65 to $100, and updos are $125 and up; color ranges from $125 to $200 for base color, $275 to $480 for highlights and balayage, and $75 to $160 for gloss and toner; and treatments (including keratin) are $50 to $150.

Nova Arts Salon at ROW DTLA is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8am to 7pm; (323) 244-4277.
