Valley-residing jeanswear junkies can now venture to Ventura Boulevard for their next Madewell fix. And for a brand inspired by a heritage workwear company, it's fitting that the label's tenth LA store has taken over previously LA-based American Apparel's old space in Studio City, right next door to U.K.-bred work boot maker Dr. Martens.
Soft-opened as of mid October, the shop houses Madewell's signature denim bar, which is stocked with Madewell's newest fall denim and sustainably-dyed Eco Jean collections alongside its classic silhouettes in a variety of fits, hems, and finishes. The shop also offers the J. Crew-owned brand's American Southwest-inspired fall/winter line, which is comprised of earthy color palettes, graphic prints and folk-informed florals.
Though the boutique won't be stocking Madewell's just-launched men's collection in the near future, the store does offer services like custom leather monogramming, hemming, and denim recycling.
On top of its new SFV shop, the brand is also parking its road-tripping Personalization Station in our city next month. The mobile boutique will feature Madewell's luxe leather totes, clutches, wallets, notebooks, card cases, keychains, and more accessories, all of which can be embossed on-site.
Into it? The traveling shop's first LA stop will be at Palisades Village Friday, December 7; it'll then head over to Renegade Craft at DTLA's Los Angeles State Historic Park Saturday, December 7 to Sunday, December 8. In addition to bringing its leather goods-filled boutique on wheels to the handmade market, Madewell's Hometown Heroes booth is also setting up shop with local makers like Etta + Billie, Hyworks, and Post Studio.
