Uniqlo has officially landed in Downtown — and for its newest LA store, it's highlighting a handful of stylish locals. The Japanese brand's eighth SoCal outpost opened last Thursday at The Bloc (did you catch our Stories from the media preview?), where its affordable essentials have taken over two entire floors.

Located at the corner of Flower and 7th Streets, the collab-happy brand's 12,000-square-foot store offers its full range of women's, men's, and kids clothing and accessories, including its insulating Heat Tech innerwear ($9.90 to $39.90) and its lightweight Airism line ($7.90 to $19.90). Also on the racks are Uniqlo's Ultra Light Down jackets (which conveniently fold up into drawstring pouches), fleece outerwear, its UT line of tees featuring graphics from collaborating brands and designers, and its latest capsule with cult-fave luxury designer Alexander Wang.

The brand tapped Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising instructor Michelle Kehoe and students Rachelle Shen and Martin McKenna alongside food insiders Scott Tremonti of The Urban Oven and Hatch DTLA chef (and The Great Food Truck Race winner) Daniel Shemtob to participate in a locals-only campaign featuring Uniqlo's wallet-friendly staples, which shoppers can see in a showcase on the ground floor.

The second floor also highlights LA talents: FIDM students were selected to create an installation highlighting sustainable denim design featuring textiles from Uniqlo parent company Fast Retailing's LA-based Jeans Innovation Center, a research and design facility that uses eco-friendly and state-of-the-art production and processing techniques. JIC's newest washing process (which reduces water usage by up to 99%) was used to create Uniqlo's fall/winter men's regular fit jeans, and the method is expected to be rolled out to all of the brand's denim — as well as to cult-cool labels like Theory and J Brand, which are also owned by Fast Retailing — by 2020.

The DTLA shop also offers free hemming on pants $19.90 and up (otherwise, it's $5) and in-store pickup within three days for online orders. Explore more inside the massive store and scroll through the gallery above, then see below for the store's hours.

Uniqlo at The Bloc, 700 South Flower St., #S100, LA, 90017; Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; (877) 486-4756
