Southern California's recent heavy showers may have cleared away some of that L.A. smog, but what about tending to the quality of our indoor air? New York-bred The Sill has been delivering mood-boosting greens (the NASA-approved kind, not the cannabis kind) to plant people since 2012, and the modern greenery retailer is now pleasing the abodes of Angelenos with its first West Coast shop.

Open on West Third Street (at Kilkea Drive across from Anine Bing and Vanderpump Dogs) as of Thursday, the shop stocks a variety of species and sizes, including moss balls for $5, pet-friendly bird's nest ferns for $9 and up, adorable (and hard-to-find) Pilea peperomioides plants starting at $23, monsteras starting at $30, and medium snake plants for $56, to name a few.

Similar to its website, the shop makes it easy to shop for plants based on the size of your space or whether you've got furry family members. You can also mix and match plants with The Sill's own collection of vessels (in midcentury modern-inspired hues, of course) or bring your our own planter, pick up plant care cards that'll tell you exactly how much sun or water your green buddies need, or get pro potting tips from The Sill's in-house experts. Also on offer are care accessories, like potting soil, fertilizer, water misters, and more.

The brand tells us it'll also hold after-hours workshops (like terrarium classes and more) starting in March, echoing The Sill's community-focused approach at its other two NYC outposts in Manhattan which opened in 2014 and 2017.
