Hello Kitty's Most Adorable Shop in L.A. Has Arrived in Hollywood

The world's most famous feline girl and her gang of cute friends have officially arrived in Tinseltown. Sanrio opened its second L.A. flagship for Hello Kitty at Hollywood & Highland last month, and (unsurprisingly) it's filled with plenty of charming Instagram-friendly corners.

Located at the tourist-happy shopping center's central courtyard on the second floor, the 3,600-square-foot space stocks clothing, footwear, accessories, stationery, toys, treats, and limited-edition merch from Hello Kitty (who, lest you forget, is obviously not a cat) and her fellow cartoon characters Aggretsuko, Chococat (who is actually a cat), Gudetama, Keroppi, My Melody, and Little Twin Stars.

And remember that Hello Kitty Kawaii Mart that popped up in Little Tokyo a few years back? The grocery store-inspired shop is a permanent fixture here, offering everything from cookie mixes and car accessories to soy sauce, vitamins, toilet paper, diapers, Korean beauty and skincare, and more.

L.A. streetwear brand Japangeles also has its own corner, where Sanrio superfans can stock up on hoodies, sweats, tote bags, caps, and more. The shop also offers the adorable empire's limited edition collabs with Herschel, Converse, tokidoki, Kidrobot, PBTeen, and ProActiv alongside exclusive Hollywood-inspired goodies available only at the store.

The cute and colorful store — which is Sanrio's seventh L.A.-area location — also features special fixtures flown in from Japan, a massive mural designed by Sanrio's team in Tokyo (can you spot all of our city's iconic landmarks?), a wall of video screens that play episodes of Aggretsuko on Netflix and Gudetama's YouTube videos on repeat, and lightboxes that highlight the stories of Sanrio superfans. In addition, expect a regular schedule of workshops, events, and meet-and-greets with artists and internet personalities who are friends of the brand.
