L.A.'s in-the-know beauty buffs may already be familiar with the in-house nail polish testing spa at Orly's Van Nuys HQ, where friends and family can score perks like custom-made lacquers and free manicures (so long as you're cool with being a well-groomed human guinea pig). The vegan nail care brand is now giving more the F&F treatment to the rest of us Angelenos with its first flagship boutique and mani bar, which opened March 1 on Beverly Boulevard.
Located just a stone's throw from The Grove, the 800-square-foot Orly Color Labs stocks the brand's full range of cruelty- and 12-free lacquers and nail products, including its Breathable line infused with vitamins B5 and C (which strengthen nails) and its spring Radical Optimism collection of pastel shades. For $20, you can also create your own nail polish using an app on the shop's iPad, then watch Orly's in-house mixologists whip up your personal bottle at the color bar. (Yes, you can name your polish, too.)
Plus, the studio will also offer free manicures every Saturday for the entire month of March with every custom nail polish; otherwise, you can get a $20 mani and choose from Orly's ready-made line of polishes. Also happening for a limited time are nail art sessions with celebrity manicurist Ashlie Johnson, who'll deck out your digits with Women's Month-themed designs. It'll cost you $60 and all proceeds will go to the Downtown Women's Center.
Aspiring nail artists can attend master classes for nail art or color theory, and the space will also host pop-ups with like-minded brands and nail artist residencies.
