This Wellness-Obsessed Desert Getaway Just Unveiled Its Coachella-Ready Facelift
Here's yet another mini-vacay option for your next desert getaway, especially if you're looking to relax sustainably. Following a $2 million renovation, Two Bunch Palms Resort & Spa in Desert Hot Springs has officially unveiled its fashionable facelift and a slew of stylish new suites. Even better news: There are rooms are still bookable in time for Coachella weekend one—if you hurry.
Famous for its mineral-rich geothermal hot springs (which have been flowing and bubbling underground for over 600 years), the holistic carbon-neutral hotel tapped L.A.-based design firm Studio Mai—which also dreamed up the spaces at Gjelina and Zinque—to renovate its 72-acre grounds and interiors. In addition to new landscaping, the reception lounge was upgraded with organic materials like pequi wood that covers the entire welcome desk and handmade vintage tiles along with a new artisanal tea shop and wine bar. The Capone suites (named after mobster Al Capone, who reportedly once called Two Bunch Palms his desert hideaway), which start at $349 per night, also got a chic remodel and now boast their own private entrance.
Those who prefer to slumber within arm's reach of the wellness oasis' bubbling mineral waters can check into The Springs suites (starting at $248 per night), the newly-opened 400- to 650-square-foot rooms that are also conveniently located near the spa and Essence restaurant, which also got a menu revamp courtesy of Croft Alley's Phuong Tran.
That's not all: The sustainable resort also added a rotating schedule of free workshops and classes for guests, like drumming sessions, sound baths, Cannabis 101, and more.
Coming soon is a new outdoor spa that will bring "modular treatment rooms" boasting picturesque views of Mount San Jacinto.
Sound dreamy? The boutique hotel is hosting a multi-sensory Secular Sabbath (starting at $1,205 per person) from April 14 to 16 to help Coachellagoers unwind, and they're also offering Desert X deals through April 21.
As mentioned, there are still rooms available for that big desert music festival if you don't mind the drive (it's about 30 miles away from the Empire Polo Fields); rooms start at $428 per night and we suggest booking your stay ASAP here.
