Floravere's First L.A. Showroom Offers Meghan Markle-Inspired Wedding Gowns & More
Tech-savvy Los Angeles brides have scored another smart source for dreamy wedding dresses and more. L.A.-based bridal startup Floravere has opened its first West Coast atelier on Melrose Place, bringing Serena Williams-approved gowns to the sunny second-floor showroom that previously housed part of The Apartment by the Line above Alfred Tea Room. (The luxe lifestyle shop is still located across the way but is now appointment-only.)
Co-founded by Denise Jin and Molly Kang, the direct-to-consumer brand is known for its women-inspired bespoke bridal gowns designed with the same high-end fabrics as luxury labels — but sans the high-priced tags. Here's how it works: First, you'll select up to four of your favorite silhouettes to try on IRL from Floravere's website before booking a personalized styling session at the showroom, where a bridal stylist will work with you one-on-one to find your dreamy Big Day look in a private suite. After finding "The One" (available in sizes 0 to 26), your custom gown will arrive at their doorstep in about five months.
On offer are customizable separates ($300 and up), jumpsuits ($505 and up), and dresses ($775 and up), including a Japanese matte silk boatneck gown inspired by Meghan Markle's royal look by Givenchy ($1,475), the K. Switzer high-neck romper ($775), a sleek slip dress with an open criss-cross back named after Nina Simone ($950), and an ethereal slate blue tulle dress with floral appliques inspired by artist Georgia O'Keeffe ($2,250), among others.
Also on shelves are wedding accessories, bridesmaids gifts, and loungewear, such as breezy beaded veils ($525), chic chiffon capes ($290), 15-layer tulle overskirts ($675), satin pajama sets ($135), and more. In addition, guests can create custom arrangements at local florist Fiber & Florals' light-filled stem bar at the front corner, get a quick makeup touch-up with Kosås' clean beauty, and throw back a glass of sparkling wine by Le Grand Courtage.
The L.A. showroom follows Floravere's first standalone atelier opening in New York in April; the company also has hotel outposts in San Francisco, Denver, Austin, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Boston, with Philadelphia coming in the fall.
