From schlepping massive shopping bags to navigating those digital directory screens, retail therapy can really be quite stressful. (Yes, #firstworldprobs.) Regardless of whatever's winding you up, Theragun's first Los Angeles shop at Westfield Century City is here to help. Founded by L.A. chiropractor Jason Wersland, the high-tech therapy brand is holding court on level one by Aritzia.
The high-tech therapy brand is known for its percussive massage gadgets ($249 to $599) that are beloved by pro athletes like Mat Fraser (a.k.a. the fittest man in the world), Olympic hurdler Georganne Moline, and Paralympic gold medalist Jessica Long, as well as stars such as Adam Levine, Ashley Graham, and DJ Khaled. Here's how it works: The ergonomic tool vibrates at 16mm amplitude and 2,400 percussions per minute, resulting in a "hurts-so-good" (in the words of RHOC star Tamra Judge) deep muscle treatment that boosts blood flow and triggers whole-body relaxation. (See how it works below and we dare you to try and look away.)
Don't have a few Benjamins to drop on the restorative gadgets? The L.A.-based brand is giving Angelenos the chance to try before they buy at its 300-square-foot Theragun Reset shop. In addition to booking 15-minute therapy sessions ($25 per person), guests can pick up the Liv (which has one speed and a maximum force of 30 lbs.; $249), the premium G3 (two speeds and a max force of 40 lbs. for $399), or the state-of-the-art G3Pro, which is the most silent of the three and has two speeds, an adjustable arm, and swappable batteries ($599).
Also on offer are attachments ($20 and up) for digging deeper into specific muscles and accessories (like extra batteries and charging stands).
