More Melrose Avenue news for your Monday, this time in the skincare space. As seen in our snap above, Dermalogica is opening its second L.A. store in West Hollywood soon, right off the stylish shopping stretch behind Rag & Bone.
The Marina Del Rey-born clean beauty brand is taking over Lymbr's former storefront next door to Amanu's custom sandal studio. Similar to Dermalogica's other flagship stores (including its Santa Monica outpost), we're guessing that the space will house a facial studio offering 10-, 30-, and 60-minute treatments ($50 to $100) in addition to stocking its full range of cruelty-free skin health products.
As far as the merch, expect to find products packed with effective plant extracts, including best-sellers like the Active Moist oil-free lotion ($42 and up), the Dynamic Skin Recover SPF50 broad spectrum moisturizer ($73 and up), the gentle foaming Special Cleansing Gel ($39 and up), the Super Rich Repair moisturizer ($92 and up) alongside newer people-pleasers, such as the Phyto-Nature Firming Serum ($145).
The L.A.-based, California-manufactured company was founded in 1986 by U.K. aesthetician Jane Wurwand, who opened the International Dermal Institute in Marina Del Rey three years earlier. After struggling to find professional-grade products formulated without irritating ingredients, she created Dermalogica to fill the non-toxic void in the beauty market.
In addition to that Westside boutique, the brand has flagship stores across North America in Atlanta, the Bahamas, New York, Scottsdale, and Quebec, and overseas in Berlin, Belgium, London, Sydney, and Dubai, among other international destinations.
No word yet on the exact opening date; we've reached out to the brand for more details, so stay tuned for more.
