'The Aeronauts' Is Transforming the Rose Bowl Into a Fantastical Fair This Weekend

The Amazon Originals pop-up promises hypnotists, hot air balloon rides, and more.

Speaking of silver screen-inspired immersive experiences, here's another promotional pop-up that's bringing freebies, photo opps, rides, and other festivities to L.A. Before it lands in theatres and online next month, Amazon Originals film The Aeronauts (which stars Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne as a pair of hot air balloon adventurers) is making a pit stop at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena this weekend as part of its Incredible Journey cross-country tour. (It's also boomeranging back to L.A. with a visit to The Grove from Dec. 20 to 22.)

Happening this Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24 (12 to 8 p.m.), the two-day event will transform the L.A. stadium's Lot H into a Victorian-era fair, complete with family-friendly activities, live performances, screenings, and more. For starters, Festgoers can expect to ride the film's "Mammoth" hot air balloon, watch the movie starting at 5:30 p.m. nightly at the Fly-In Theatre (which boasts a 20-foot LED screen), and play carnival games.

Attendees will also be entertained by cartoonists, fortune tellers, hypnotists, and scientific marvels, and there'll also be "the finest fair food" and drinks, and giveaways. Of course, a store filled with merchandise inspired by the late 19th century-era drama.

Into it? RSVP for L.A. event online here, then catch the movie in theatres Dec. 6 and stream it on Amazon Prime Video starting Dec. 20.
