Update 2/3/2020: According to staff, Barneys New York's Beverly Hills location is scheduled to close in mid-February.
Designer discount diggers, listen up. There's still time to scoop up deals during Barneys New York's store closing sale — but not for long. Though an exact end date has yet to be set in stone by its new parent company, Authentic Brands Group, staff at the Beverly Hills location confirmed that they've been told that the store will remain open "at least until the end of the month."
Per an email blast sent out by Barneys this morning, inventory is now 50 to 70% off, while in-store signage notes that there's an additional 25% off on purchases, with a few exceptions on select luxury labels. The retailer's e-comm sites (including Barneys Warehouse) shut down in mid-December and are now redirecting visitors to Saks Fifth Avenue (and its outlet, Saks Off Fifth), where the iconic department store's name will live on.
Expect to see even deeper discounts as the retailer heads into its final days. For instance, when we stopped by Barneys during the week of Christmas, we spotted footwear from Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Fendi, Gucci, Manolo Blahnik, and other luxury labels priced at 30% off, plus an additional 20% off all purchases (up from 15% off in early December).
Save for its Beverly Hills and New York flagships, Barneys shuttered its remaining stores last year (including its L.A. locations at The Grove, the Americana at Brand, and in Santa Monica) after its August bankruptcy filing; it was acquired by ABG in November. While there's no word yet on who'll snap up the luxury retailer's BevHills property, the Madison Avenue store will remain open through the end of 2020 and will be converted into a four-story pop-up space with a smaller footprint, as previously reported by The Real Deal.
