L.A. Billboard Legend Angelyne Officially Approves of the TV Series Inspired by Her Life

Emmy Rossum will star as the blonde bombshell in a limited series.

Today's social media influencers don't hold a candle to Angelyne, the enigmatic L.A. icon known for her self-made stardom, thanks to her ubiquitous self-promotional billboards and conspicuous bubblegum pink Corvette. (Let's not forget her gubernatorial bid!) Her real-life story was first revealed an investigative piece by Gary Baum at The Hollywood Reporter and unsurprisingly inspired a TV series. Now, the L.A. icon has given an official seal of approval to the project bearing her name, according to THR.

Angelyne (née Renee Goldberg) has joined Peacock's limited series as executive producer, according to the industry trade pub. Actress and fellow executive producer Emmy Rossum will star as the blonde bombshell in the eight-episode show. Both women took to Instagram to announce the news, and Angelyne christening Rossum as her "Hollywood fairy."

Per THR, the show will "delve into fame, identity, survival, billboards, Corvettes, lingerie, men, women, women teasing men, men obsessed with women, West Hollywood, crystals, UFOs and, most importantly of all, the self-proclaimed Rorschach test in pink, glow-in-the-dark queen of the universe."

Last month, Rossum shared a sneak peek of her own Angelyne transformation, as seen in her Polaroid snap below.

Read the full story over at The Hollywood Reporter, and stock up on Angelyne's merch (yes, you do need her meditation cassette tape for $75) because no Los Angeles experience is truly complete without her.
