The Encinitas-based brand's 1,400-square-foot outpost debuted mid-November and stocks its full range of women's and men's high-performance fitness apparel and accessories, all made at factories that abide by Vuori's ethical code of conduct (rules include safe working conditions, fair pay, eco-minded practices like waste reduction, and more).
Expect to find pieces like quick-drying tees with UPF30 ($44+), moisture-wicking jogger pants ($84) with four-way stretch, organic cotton ripstop pants ($89) designed for hiking and climbing, men's boardshorts made of upcycled coconut husks and recycled polyester ($68), super-soft leggings ($84+), functional sweaters with zippered pockets ($68+), water-resistant windbreakers with UPF50 ($112), and much more.
Mother Earth-loving fitness fiends will love that the company offsets 100% of its carbon footprint through Climate Neutral, which funds projects that fight global warming. Half of Vuori's products are made using eco-conscious and recycled fabrics — think organic cotton, polyester made from recycled plastic bottles, nylon made from recycled fishing nets, an other sustainable materials.
The company also teams with organizations such as Bluesign, Oeko-Tex, and Unifi to certify its materials, and the goal is to have at least 80% of its inventory be sustainable and reduce 80% of plastics from its shipping and supply chains by 2022.
The shop marks the label's sixth location; it's also got stores in San Francisco, Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach, and Del Mar in addition to a flagship in its hometown.
