Erin and Sara Foster's Fashion Brand, Favorite Daughter, Opens First Store in Beverly Hills

You can stop stealing clothes from your sister's closet now. Favorite Daughter, the ready-to-wear brand for the girl on the go founded by sisters Erin and Sara Foster, just opened its first-ever standalone retail store in Beverly Hills. The 1,000 square-foot boutique will house the brand's full assortment of jackets, sweaters, denim, dresses, holiday-ready gifts, and special-edition collab pieces from Jennifer Meyer and Roxanne Assouline.

A star-studded holiday shopping event on Monday, December 13 marked Favorite Daughter's opening after a nationwide tour of successful pop-up shop openings at Graduate Hotel locations. The pop-ups were a hit, so a brick-and-mortar naturally was the next step. Kate Hudson, Rachel Zoe, and Eric Buterbaugh were among those in attendance at the grand opening.

"Since day one, Erin and I always envisioned Favorite Daughter as a brick-and-mortar concept. We are so excited that our dream has become a reality and we couldn't be happier with how the space turned out. It's a place where I could see Erin and myself shopping even if it wasn't, you know, our company," said Sara.

The sisters, who also host The World's First Podcast, set out to create a retail space that felt fun and fresh yet striking and luxe. Designed in partnership with Fai Khadra, Favorite Daughter features splashes of pastel pink and yellow, accentuated by geometric cutouts and curved archways that divide the space into a series of intimate nooks, a seating room, and dressing rooms. Maurice Harris, the artist behind Echo Park-based bespoke floral design studio Bloom & Plume, constructed a one-of-a-kind, chaotic yet calculated floral chandelier that serves as the feathery focal point for guests entering the space.   

"It's literally the physical manifestation of our dream closet and we can't wait for our customers to come find their new favorite piece here that their sister will inevitably steal," said Erin.  

A digital-first brand with a focus on quality, Favorite Daughter was launched in December of last year in partnership with Centric Brands, parent company to brands including Hudson Jeans and Hervé Léger. Erin and Sara wanted to create a line of pieces they wish they had in their closet. They started with basics, including sweats, a cashmere cardigan bodysuit, cashmere turtlenecks, a blazer, and sweats. Today, you can shop dozens of dressy and casual minimalist pieces at their new store and online. We're eyeing The Parry Jacket ($278) and cable-knit matching Lauren Skirt ($248), Cardigan ($228), and Bra ($98).
