Most sneakerheads wear less than half of their collections. At least according to a recent survey that eBay commissioned of 1,000 collectible sneaker enthusiasts. The online auctioneer is giving them a reason to kick that behavior to the curb.

During Labor Day weekend, eBay is opening a pop-up store in L.A. called Wear 'Em Out that rewards sneakerheads for wearing their new kicks out of the store.

Coming soon to the sneaker-obsessed Fairfax district, the Wear 'Em Out store—whose offerings were curated by rapper and Cardi B's husband Offset—will offer deep discounts of up to 70% off today's market price of the most exclusive and coveted kicks. With lower prices for shoppers who literally wear their purchases out the door.

Among the coveted kicks that'll be available to snag for less at Wear 'Em Out include the Jordan 1 Retro High OG Patent Bred, which can fetch over $300, and Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runner, which can go for up to $500 online. In addition to featuring a selection of the season's most coveted styles, the store will sell new releases that would normally only be available at deadstock prices.

On eBay, 14 pairs of sneakers are sold every minute. In October 2020, it expanded its authenticity guarantee service for sneaker sales on the platform. Through the program, all new and pre-owned collectible sneakers sold on eBay for over $100 in the U.S. can be fully vetted and verified by an independent team of industry experts.

About a year later, it announced its acquisition of Sneaker Con Digital, a leading sneaker authenticator with operations in the U.S., U.K, Canada, Australia, and Germany. At that time, eBay said that in just over a year, more than 1.55 million sneakers had been authenticated globally on its site.

Check out the address below and save the date—the Wear 'Em Out pop-up is only open for three days. Admission is free and for all ages.
