If the Hollywood Palladium's walls could talk, they'd probably tell stories in surround sound. Since opening on Sunset Blvd. in 1940, the legendary venue has played host to generations of artists, movements and moments that helped shape L.A.'s music scene. From Frank Sinatra to Jay-Z, the Palladium has never simply followed music history, it has helped write it. And now, it drops the needle once again with its latest addition to the concert experience, the Vinyl Room.
This generation of music lovers is shifting the vibe entirely, trading crowded clubs for intimate listening bars. Inspired by 1970s Japanese kissas, Vinyl Room feels like a much-needed pause in the middle of the city's chaos. Finally, Angelenos can sip, see and savor a night where music is the focus. Plus, a dining and drinking experience that is unmatched and allows guests to feel like the headliner.

Tucked just off Sunset Boulevard on El Centro Avenue, the 5,500-square-foot Vinyl Room feels like a natural extension of the Hollywood Palladium's 85-year legacy. The experience begins before guests even reach the lounge, entering through a private entrance lined with vinyl displays that set the tone for what's ahead. Beyond the hallway, the space opens into a dimly lit listening lounge where warm lighting, plush booths and an intimate bar seating and a DJ booth invite guests to settle in. Thousands of vinyl records and music memorabilia fill the room, with every album on display celebrating artists who have taken the Palladium stage throughout the decades. Vintage concert posters, framed keepsakes and studio-inspired touches give the lounge the feeling of stepping inside the ultimate music lover's living room or a producer's creative hideaway.
Created in partnership with Live Nation, the Vinyl Room isn't trying to recreate the concert, it's extending it for fans to feel like the star. Guests can ease into the night with exclusive access to the lounge beginning 90 minutes before doors even open. And when it's finally time for the main event, a private entrance into the Hollywood Palladium lets guests skip the usual crowd and head straight to the stage. The Vinyl Room remains open throughout the show and after the encore, making it the perfect pre-game and afters, complete with good vibes, great music and tasty bites.

Speaking of great taste, the Vinyl Room delivers just as much on the menu as it does through the speakers. The Japanese fusion-inspired food and cocktail program is reason enough to arrive early, whether it's for a girls' night out, date night or after-work drinks before the show. It's a refreshing departure from the typical concert concession stand, offering elevated bites that make the lounge a destination in its own right, even without a concert ticket. Our favorites included the Chili Crunch Chicken Wings tossed in sweet soy and sesame, the crisp Spicy Caesar Salad and the perfectly cooked American Wagyu Skirt Steak. Sushi lovers won't want to miss the playful Sushi 'Tots or the rich Baked Truffle & Crab Roll. Behind the bar, cocktails are just as thoughtfully crafted, from the bright, citrusy Superfly made with Roku Gin and yuzu to the smoky, mango-forward Smoke on the Water featuring tequila and mezcal.

Of course, no new city hotspot is complete without a few photo opps, and the Vinyl Room doesn't disappoint. From the record-lined hallway to the booths, bar and YES, the bathroom, every corner feels perfect for the camera roll. The soundtrack never stops either, thanks to a rotating lineup of local DJs spinning vinyl sets that match the mood of the evening. Uncover tip: Keep an eye on the calendar because you'll often catch members of beloved L.A. music collective Soulection behind the decks, bringing another layer of authenticity to the experience.
