La Brea's already home to a stellar roster streetwear names, and now, Champion is bringing more cool cred to the stylish street. Now that it's made a major comeback, the iconic American athletic gear brand has taken over Steven Alan's former space for its first-ever specialty shop, which officially débuts today.

Landing next door to Odys + Penelope, the space stocks the New York-born label's signature logo-happy sportswear — think tees, sweaters, sweats, and more — and its iconic heavyweight Reverse Weave pieces (which were designed to never shrink) alongside an exclusive capsule collection inspired by California, which is among the many limited edition drops (like special colorways, reissued items, and collabs) that the store will offer. The shop also houses an on-site customization bar that allows shoppers to design their own pieces, complete with tailoring, embroidering, and more.

Nodding to the brand's sports heritage, the interiors feature reclaimed hardwood flooring from basketball courts, metal mesh accents, and gym lockers.

Scroll through the gallery above to see more inside the laid-back shop, and swing by Champion's grand opening festivities starting at 11am tomorrow, Saturday April 7, when the first 500 shoppers will score a limited edition canvas tote bag starring the art of local artist Stella Blu.

Champion is open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 7pm and Sunday from 11am to 6pm; (323) 692-1425.
