Given our shared devotion to denim, Fred Segal, and fashionable tea houses, Los Angeles and Tokyo are clearly on the same wavelength. That explains why Japanese nail salon MARS has been going strong in LA for the past six years — and now, beauty buffs who dig its wa-no-omotenashi approach (translation: the best customer service ever) to nail art can now enjoy the same five-star service on their tresses and lashes in a sleek new space.

Renamed MARS +, the luxe mani and pedi salon relocated to Melrose Avenue earlier this year and now offers an expanded hair services menu. Founder and owner Horoko Fujikawa Mori tells us that her goal is "for guests to experience personal and high-quality Japanese service. We are excited to introduce guests to our new, signature Hair Spa treatment, a traditional Japanese spa offering designed to recover damaged hair, life and firm face muscles and soothe the body and mind, in addition to traditional services."

Available in 30-, 45-, and 60-minute options ($60 to $120), the Hair Spa treatments are like facials for your scalp and include deep cleansing shampoo techniques and massages to help stimulate circulation and encourage stress relief. There's the Mini, which includes a shampoo, scalp massage, mist, and rinse; the Rebirth, an anti-aging focused treatment that hydrates and lifts hair while preventing hair loss; and the Signature, the ultimate pampering option that includes a neck and shoulder massage to"enhance your sense of well-being." (Blowouts and mani/pedi services can also be added on to the treatments.)

That's not all: the upgraded menu also includes blowouts ($60 to $80), updos ($80 to $130), haircuts ($120 to $170 for women, $50 for men), single and double color ($120 to $150 and up), highlights ($125 and up), and balayage ($200 and up) alongside deep conditioning ($60 and up) and Japanese straightening ($250 and up).  There's also makeup services ($100 to $150) and lash extensions, which range from $120 to $250 for classic and 3D volume sets and $50 for just the bottom lashes. (Touch-ups are $70 to $150).

Of course, MARS still offers its people-pleasing nail and R&R treatments, including classic manicures ($60), pedicures ($70), mani/pedi combos ($110 to $160), gel nails ($90 and up), and gel nail art ($5 and up), alongside scalp, shoulder, and upper body massages ($40 and up); eye rescue treatments ($30 and up); and Ashitsubo reflexology ($70).
